ENGINEERED WOODEN FLOORS ARE ADAPTABLE AND STURDY

Which are engineered wooden floors?

Engineered hardwood flooring comprise of more than one layer of timber. Made from multi layers of wood floorings, the shirt is made of real wood that could be oak or walnut. Such planks, therefore last longer and have been popular in use commercially and in houses.

The top layer that's made from real wood varies in thickness from 1mm to 8mm. A base layer of wooden ply is positioned at a ideal angle to the top layer. This type of construction prevents the movement which is seen to occur in wood.

Types of engineered Hardwood floorings:

- Two ply wooden floors: Such wooden floorings comprise of a layer of real wood and a single layer of ply under it.

- Three ply hardwood flooring: These are made of one layer of wood and two layers of ply wood below it positioned in other angles to the top layer.

- Multi ply wooden floors: Comprised of a layer of real wood and multi layers of ply positioned below it, multi ply wooden flooring end up being more durable and stable. Multi ply wooden floorings that are 18mm thick or more than that are also known as structural planks. These could be used directly on the joists, maintaining the finished hardwood flooring in a lower height.

Oak tends to enlarge. This type of movement is removed as the layers in these engineered wooden floorings are glued to the top layer with an angle of 90 degrees.
